Sunday Super Seoul €50,000 GTD Report

Blog - 18 Aug 2021

Our Sunday Seoul series went off with a bang at the weekend, €50,000 in guarantees across six big tournaments that saw 93% of the fields freeroll or qualify their way in – with bigdog18 bagging the biggest prize of the day in the High Roller.

We’ll start at the beginning of the evening’s play, however, with the €109 Seoul Re-buy, 52 entries chasing the €10k guarantee, with 10 players in the money.

The cleverly-named CrimeaRiver made it to the cash, 9th place and €325 while Ramjet11 made the first 4-figure score in 3rd place for €1200.

That left bossmodeT and KillBill to play heads-up for the trophy, and it was the former who came through for the €3,000 win, his opponent’s fine run rewarded with €2000.

Next up was the €109 Seoul Freezeout, always a popular tournament and this time drawing 90 entries, a small overlay for the players always welcome.

Pinkers999 and ButlamBetter made it to the heads-up match and the latter took down the title, a cool €3000 bankroll boost, his rival taking €2000 as runner-up.

The €109 Seoul Re-entry kicked off at 19:00 and 71 entries appeared to chase the €10k prizepool, among them Bryan 'BOOMSWITCH' Paris.

The MTT crusher and HighStakes series reg managed to squeeze into the money with a 10th place finish worth €225, with KillBill adding a €1200 3rd place for an excellent day at the tables.

CrimeaRiver was in at the deep end again, this time heads-up against Brazil’s paulin9996, but had to settle for 2nd and €2000, paulin9996 taking the win and €3k.

The €109 Seoul Supersonic took just 104 minutes to separate the 46-player field, Pinkers999 in the money again with a 6th place and €250, with HS cash game reg Pepperhype narrowly losing out for the title, fergberger scooping the €1800 top prize.

The €109 Seoul Bounty saw €100 on the heads of each of the 31 entrants, with wolfie57 taking full advantage to add €400 to his €93 regular cash for 7th place.

Up top, bigdog18 decided to make a big Sunday move, crushing the final table for a €1116 cash and €700 in headhunting bonuses.

That left the €535 Seoul HighRoller to round off the day’s lucrative entertainment – the €10k guarantee crushed with a €14.5k prizepool - and CrimeaRiver finished what he started earlier in the afternoon, cashing for €1450 in 4th spot.

Heads-up saw Tulx attempt to stop the late run from bigdog18, but it was to be double success for the Bounty winner, adding €6235 to his tally with heads-up victory, Tulx pocketing €3480.

The Sunday Seoul was a massive success, the 720 freerolls in May given regs and recs alike the chance to compete for huge money, with the May 30th Saturday qualifier also adding 100 GTD seats to the series.
