HighStakes™ is growing at a phenomenal rate following a period of software updates which includes the addition of many new features. A lot has changed and it is all positive.
So what’s new? Firstly, the revamped software provides a much smoother experience, making gameplay that much more enjoyable. Significantly increased traffic figures prove that we’re heading in the right direction.
In-game features include the following:
Avatars: New avatars are available for each player to choose how they wish to appear to their opponents. You can keep the same one or change, depending on your mood.
Table Themes: A variety of table themes is now available where players can decide for themselves which is most visually appealing. This is particularly helpful when playing several tables at the same time.
Run It Twice: It is fashionable these days to be able to run out the board twice in an all-in confrontation. There is nothing worse than seeing your opponent draw that one lucky card on the river to beat you. Now you can have one more shot at evening out your luck.
Sonic Poker: Sonic Poker is the fast-fold variant on HighStakes™. Once you see your cards and decide that you don’t want to put any money into the pot, simply click fold and a new table will pop up instantly allowing you to play on without wasting any time.
Quick Seat: Some players really hate wasting their time searching through the lobby for a table. If that sounds like you, the Quick Seat feature on the software allows players to quickly select the stakes and game. All you need to do then is click on Play Now and the table will load instantly.
Throwables: Playing poker is all about interaction with the other players. On HighStakes™, one way to do this is using the new throwables feature. On the bottom left of the table window, a variety of different objects can be selected to throw at one of your opponents. Click on which throwable you want to send and then click on the receiving player.
There are also some new games to try out. Everybody is familiar with the usual offering of NL Hold’em and PLO but have you heard about the five-card PLO variant? What about with six or seven hole cards?
Five, six, or seven cards for each player increases the amount of action as each player is more likely to make a strong hand. Fast-paced games with more action equals much more fun if you can handle all the adrenaline.
HighStakes™ now also offers five-handed tables as well as the more common six seats. Less players at the table makes it a much more aggressive affair with decisions coming around even faster.
Finally, there are the cash game leaderboards which run weekly from Sunday to Sunday. Six leaderboards, divided into different stake levels, start the week with a guaranteed prize pool. As more players play and pay rake, the prize pool gets a boost with typical prizes running into a few thousands euros for some categories.
All players who play a hand of real money cash game poker are entered into the relevant leaderboard automatically. No additional registration is necessary.
